Do you wish to support people suffering from mental disorders in a holistic way and take into account the different aspects of their social, professional and personal lives? Within the outpatient Psychiatry Biel, you work in a varied and bilingual work environment where you can apply your social work skills. Our interprofessional team offers competent, rapid and individualised psychiatric care for people presenting a wide range of mental disorders. As a member of the UPZ outpatient service, you work closely with specialists in the medical, psychological and nursing fields, as well as with established professionals in the region and external partners. You support our patients with social, financial, legal and professional issues and develop concrete perspectives for their daily lives with them. This allows you to enjoy a varied activity, great autonomy and the opportunity to contribute sustainably to strengthening people’s resources, including in difficult life situations.

Your tasks

• You plan and coordinate support measures in the key areas of work, housing, budget, law and migration, and implement them
• You provide psychosocial support in cases of acute crisis in collaboration with the outpatient care team
• You support our patients particularly in social insurance law matters
• In your daily work, you collaborate closely with authorities (e.g. adult and child protection authorities and social services) as well as with legal and specialised services (e.g. counselling centres, outpatient services)
• You bring your valuable experience in psychosocial support and actively participate in maintaining and optimising our high quality standards
• You accompany our patients individually and process-oriented
• You have the opportunity to network with social organisations, institutions and organisations (e.g. in the field of sheltered housing and work)
• You work within an interprofessional team composed of doctors, psychologists and nurses

Your profile

• You hold a degree from a University of Applied Sciences (UAS) / Bachelor in social work
• You have in-depth knowledge of social law as well as knowledge in the medico-psychiatric fields
• You possess strong skills and proven experience in counselling
• An additional qualification in social insurance law as well as further training in systemic counselling are major assets
• You are an open, stress-resistant and reliable person, with a good sense of humour
• You demonstrate excellent organisational skills
• Previous experience in psychiatry is ideally an advantage
• You have good oral knowledge of German and French
