Department Head Probation and Enforcement Services 80 - %With around 1400 employees, the Correctional Services and Reintegration (JuWe) is the largest office within the Directorate of Justice and Home Affairs and is responsible for the enforcement of sentences and measures as well as for the implementation of various types of detention. Our employees from around 40 professions support and promote the reintegration of offenders and are committed effectively and progressively to a safe and just society.
The Probation and Enforcement Services (BVD) are one of eight main departments of JuWe. They are responsible for the regulation and management of the enforcement of custodial sentences and court-ordered measures as well as for probation assistance and the implementation of learning programmes. With around 180 employees, they make an important contribution to crime prevention and social integration.
As part of the BVD, the Enforcement 2 division is responsible for the implementation and support of outpatient and inpatient measures as well as substitute measures and supervision controls. The focus is on individual support and ensuring compliance with conditions in various measure settings. A demanding environment that requires not only professional competence but also clear and experienced leadership.

This is what you will achieve with us
- Personnel, professional and organisational management of the Measures Enforcement 2 department with an interdisciplinary team of eight employees
- Ensuring a professional, effective and legally compliant implementation of outpatient and inpatient measures
- Further development of structures, processes and quality management as well as harmonisation of working methods
- Close cooperation with the legal department, internal specialist units and external partners
- Active participation in the management of the Probation and Enforcement Services as well as in projects, specialist and working groups
- Representation of the department in complex professional situations, if necessary also before courts
This is what you bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Law or a related field (e.g. Psychology, Criminology)
- At least five years of professional experience in a comparable environment, of which at least three years in a leadership position
- Confident handling of legal issues and the ability to incorporate different perspectives into well-founded decisions; knowledge of administrative law, forensic science, addiction work, enforcement of measures and/or case management is an advantage
- Structured, resilient personality with strong social skills and sense of responsibility
- Very good German language skills in spoken and written form as well as affinity for digital working methods
