The Vocational and Continuing Education Centre Buchs Sargans (BZBS) trains 3,000 apprentices annually in over 20 professions and is attended by around 2,000 adults for further education. More than 200 teachers instruct in basic education and about 170 lecturers work full- and part-time in continuing education.

Head of Infrastructure

What to expect

• Management of the Infrastructure department with six caretakers and twenty cleaners at the Buchs and Sargans locations. Ensuring orderly operations and responsible for financial planning and cost control in the area
• Planning, accompanying and monitoring regular, professional maintenance work within the set budget
• Co-design and development of infrastructure, partly in cooperation with the cantonal building authority. Management of own smaller conversions and procurement projects including cost control
• Responsible for the management of room usage by external parties
• Performing the duties as the officer responsible for structural safety
• Responsible for the training of the apprentice in operational maintenance

What distinguishes you

• Technical/craft basic training with a Federal VET Diploma and many years of professional experience in technical maintenance
• Training as a federal caretaker with a federal certificate, ideally supplemented by further training as a Facility Management Manager or Caretaker HFP
• Proven leadership experience
• High service orientation, networked thinking, confident appearance, resilient and flexible
• Good IT user skills, especially Microsoft programmes (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Microsoft 365/Teams)
