Occupational Therapist for the Community Psychiatry Service

The Community Psychiatry Service is looking for an occupational therapist at a workload of 80% to 100%, on a permanent contract. The starting date is scheduled for 1 December 2026.

Context

The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the five Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, the CHUV plays a leading role in medical care, medical research and education.

The Department of Psychiatry consists of 10 services addressing the three stages of life and covers the Central, Western and Northern psychiatric sectors of the canton. It provides comprehensive and multidisciplinary care for people suffering from mental disorders, through acute care, outpatient follow-ups and interventions in their living environment.

The Community Psychiatry Service aims to promote the integration and maintenance in the community of people suffering from mental disorders, taking into account relational, social and environmental factors that influence their mental health. Its recovery-centred approach is multidisciplinary and relies on mobile, outpatient interventions and day activities.

Mission

• You provide quality occupational therapy services in patients’ living environments and within the day hospital framework
• You carry out occupational therapy assessments and implement interventions adapted to patients’ needs
• You promote the maintenance and development of autonomy, participation and functional abilities of patients in their daily activities
• You contribute to care, training and research missions, in accordance with the CHUV’s triple mission
• You actively participate in the continuous improvement of the quality and safety of services
• You work closely with the various professionals involved in care and contribute to interprofessional and collegiate collaboration within the teams.

Profile

• You hold a Bachelor of Science HES-SO in occupational therapy or an equivalent qualification; for foreign diplomas, recognition by the Swiss Red Cross is mandatory
• Ideally, you have several years of clinical experience, experience in psychiatry being an asset
• You demonstrate autonomy and a strong sense of responsibility and have good negotiation and teamwork skills
• You possess excellent listening skills and interpersonal qualities and are sensitive to issues related to social integration
• You have a particular interest in the continuous development of care quality and the evolution of professional practices.

Depending on the candidate’s profile, the salary class ranges between levels 8 and 9.
