Chief Resident (Deputy) in the General Psychiatry Service
The General Psychiatry Service (PGE) of the Department of Psychiatry at CHUV (DP-CHUV) is looking for a FMH chief resident or deputy chief resident at a 100% activity rate, for the Outpatient Reception and Brief Interventions Unit.
The starting date is scheduled for April 1, 2026, or to be agreed upon.
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the five Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, it plays a leading role in care, medical research, and education.
The General Psychiatry Service provides psychiatric care for the adult population (18 to 65 years) of the Lausanne metropolitan area. Organized into specialized sections, it has 95 acute care beds on the Cery site, as well as outpatient consultations in the city center, to meet the needs of patients and care network partners.
The Outpatient Reception and Brief Interventions Unit welcomes people with psychological difficulties seeking a specialized assessment, as well as patients referred by their primary care physician for a consultation, crisis follow-up, or therapeutic orientation.
It notably includes consultations intended for students and young adults in training.
The services offered include: brief crisis interventions according to the brief psychodynamic intervention (BPI) model, diagnostic investigations, interviews with relatives, couple or family interviews, psychological and social assessments, development of treatment plans, and indications for psychotherapy.
When necessary, longer-term specialized care is organized in collaboration with the care network.
Mission
- You manage patients from general consultation, consultation, and young adults in training
- You supervise assistant physicians and psychologists (teaching, clinical supervision) and participate in liaison and training activities on campus
- You contribute to the smooth running of the Unit, assisting the senior physician
- You collaborate in recruiting patients for research projects conducted by the unit.
Profile
- You hold a federal medical diploma or a foreign title recognized by MEBEKO
- You have an FMH title in psychiatry and psychotherapy, or are in the process of obtaining it (MEBEKO recognition required for foreign titles)
- You have experience in adult psychiatry, both outpatient and hospital settings
- You have experience in crisis work
- You master French at level C1, required for non-French-speaking candidates (mandatory certificate less than 5 years old)
