SNSF Postdoctoral Researcher / Research Associate

Your main tasks will be as follows:

Continue, together with Dr Raphaël Bize (Principal Investigator), Prof. Mauricio Avendano (Co-Investigator), and Prof. Patrick Bodenmann (Co-Investigator), the conduct of the EFFICARE randomised controlled trial (RCT). This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the new self-directed online training programme "I-CARE" (Improving Care and Access for Rainbow Equity) focused on the health of LGBTI people and designed for primary care physicians;

Take over the coordination of and continue the implementation of the EFFICARE randomised controlled trial;

Lead the communication strategy and liaise with partners in order to maintain and expand the recruitment of primary care physicians;

Monitor data collection in terms of scope, representativeness, and quality, and respond to participants’ questions;

Lead and conduct the data analyses and the preparation of manuscripts for publication in leading scientific journals;

Contribute to the overall coordination of the study funded under NRP 83, which also includes two additional qualitative components.

PhD in public health, health economics, social policy, public policy, or quantitative social sciences. A doctoral thesis focusing on LGBTI health, medical education, or programme evaluation using randomised controlled trials would be an asset;

Applicants without a PhD who have completed a Master’s degree in statistics or another discipline with a strong focus on quantitative research methods and data analysis are also encouraged to apply;

Experience and/or knowledge in the design and conduct of randomised controlled trials in public health, health economics, or the social sciences;

Strong motivation and potential to publish in high-quality scientific journals; excellent knowledge of quantitative methods and data analysis; and experience in the analysis and/or design of interdisciplinary social science surveys and/or administrative data;

Excellent command of statistical analysis software (e.g. R, Stata) and online survey and data collection platforms such as REDCap;

Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships, as well as the willingness and ability to communicate effectively with the wider research and medical communities and to engage them in the project;
