Chief Resident / Deputy at the North Vaudois Psychiatry Center
The Department of Psychiatry is looking for a chief resident or deputy chief resident for one of its hospital units at the North Vaudois Psychiatry Center (CPNVD) of the Northern Adult Psychiatry and Psychotherapy Service (SPPAN), at 80% - 90%, starting May 1, 2026.
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the 5 Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, CHUV plays a leading role in medical care, medical research, and education.
The Northern Adult Psychiatry and Psychotherapy Service (SPPAN) is a recognized institution (A1) for FMH psychiatry and psychotherapy and D1-S for advanced training in addiction psychiatry and psychotherapy.
Adult psychiatric hospitalizations at CPNVD take place in three units of sixteen beds each. Each division is medically managed by two assistant doctors, supervised by a chief resident (deputy). We work within a general psychiatry concept, where all psychiatric pathologies are represented in each unit.
Mission
- You assume, in collaboration with the responsible physician, the clinical supervision of the multidisciplinary team in all its activities
- You carry out direct clinical practice with patients and their families
- You contribute to the training of the Unit's assistant doctors
- You participate in ensuring the quality of interfaces between the Unit and other service units, as well as the various network partners
- You participate in on-site duty on Saturdays or Sundays (8 am - 2 pm, 4-5 times per semester).
Profile
- You hold an FMH specialist title in psychiatry and psychotherapy or an equivalent title, or are in the process of obtaining it (or a title recognized by the Federal Commission of Medical Professions - MEBEKO)
- You have an interest in general psychiatry and interdisciplinary work
- You have good experience in managing psychiatric patients in outpatient and/or hospital settings
- You are able to work in a team and share knowledge
- You have proficiency in French, at least level B2 (certificate required) for non-French speakers.
