Regional Forest Engineer / Specialist Forest-Wildlife

The Office for Forest and Natural Hazards (AWN) is the cantonal specialist office for the forest and protection against natural hazards. The employees of the AWN advocate for the needs of society regarding the forest and ensure sustainable management of the forest.
You ensure that the Graubünden forest
- can protect people, animals and infrastructure,
- is a habitat for diverse animal and plant species,
- is a raw material supplier of wood, water and energy,

We are looking for a Regional Forest Engineer and Specialist Forest-Wildlife (70-100%) from 1 January 2027 or by arrangement.
- As a Regional Forest Engineer, you will be responsible for the assigned municipalities of Val Müstair, Zernez and Samnaun: enforcement of federal and cantonal forest legislation; ensuring the best possible fulfilment of forest functions
- As a Specialist Forest-Wildlife, you will lead corresponding projects in the South Graubünden region: preparation of forest-wildlife reports; professional evaluation of surveys; acting as a member of the cantonal forest-wildlife specialist group
- Degree as Forest Engineer ETH or FH, or Master’s degree in Environmental Natural Sciences ETH with a focus on Forest and Landscape Management
- Solid silvicultural knowledge
- Experience with good knowledge in the field of forest-wildlife is an advantage
- Good knowledge of several cantonal languages is an advantage
