About the job:
The QC mEMT Basel unit within QC Microbiology is responsible for conducting microbiological environmental monitoring of GMP cleanrooms and GMP ultrapure media in the production buildings in Basel (drug substances and IMP products). As part of this project, surface swabs and active/passive air sampling, as well as defined water and gas sampling for the ultrapure media, will be carried out in the relevant cleanroom zones of the buildings. These samples will then be filtered, incubated, and analyzed (if necessary) or forwarded to other departments.
The ideal candidate
Possesses completed vocational training as a biology or chemistry laboratory technician, chemical/pharmaceutical technologist, or possess an equivalent qualification and bring sound experience in microbiological laboratory work and microbiological environmental monitoring. Knowledge of GMP systems and the corresponding documentation is advantageous, and fluency in German is essential. A meticulous, precise, and practically oriented work ethic, strong teamwork skills, and openness to change complete the profile.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Preparation and execution of sample collection of microbiological samples (e.g., airborne microbiological samples, surface swabs) and particle monitoring in cleanrooms
- Performing microbiological and chemical-physical sampling of pure media (e.g., WFI, gases)
- Performing filtrations of various water qualities (e.g., WFI, PW)
- Incubation, evaluation, and documentation of results in the LIMS
- Managing sample logistics
Must-haves:
- Completed vocational training (biology, chemistry laboratory technician, chemical/pharmaceutical technologist, or equivalent)
- Experience in microbiology laboratory work and in the field of microbiological environmental monitoring is desirable
- Experience with GMP (documentation) and its systems is advantageous
- Fluent in German
