M365 Service Engineer with Requirements Engineering and Consulting 80 - 100%The Office for Informatics (AFI) is the IT competence centre of the Canton of Zurich. It provides comprehensive services in the area of central IT infrastructure and canton-wide applications for directorates, authorities, the judiciary, and independent institutions. Commissioned with the implementation of the new Information and Communication Technology (ICT) strategy, the Office for Informatics accompanies and supports the Canton of Zurich into the digital world.
Microsoft 365 is one of the central work platforms in the Canton of Zurich. Around 30 administrative units and secondary level II schools use it daily. We are specifically expanding our internal expertise in the M365 service and are looking for an experienced engineering professional who combines technical skills with consulting and workshop competence. You will work in the Collaboration team, operate and further develop our M365 service components, and at the same time be the internal contact and sparring partner for our external suppliers. Additionally, you will support our partners in the educational environment by capturing school requirements and translating them into viable solutions.
Your tasks
- Engineering and operation of M365 service components such as Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Viva Engage
- Handling requests at ticket level as well as participating in incident, problem, and change management according to ITIL, including 2nd and 3rd level support
- Capturing requirements from clients and converting them into solution proposals and decision bases
- Advising specialists and users as well as conducting workshops, presentations, and training sessions
- Change and stakeholder management in your area: coordinating with relevant stakeholders and promoting acceptance of new solutions
- Internal contact and sparring partner for our external suppliers, professional management and quality assurance of assigned work packages
- Supportive role in the educational environment: capturing requirements from secondary level II schools, conducting introductory workshops, and advising schools on storage structures, metadata, and permissions
- Participation in service catalogue, operating model, and technical documentation
- Technical sub-project management
What you bring
- Completed education in computer science (HF, FH, Bachelor or equivalent)
- At least 5 years of experience in the Microsoft 365 field at Junior+ level
- In-depth knowledge of SharePoint Online (site design, libraries, permissions, metadata) and Microsoft Teams (Microsoft Education version advantageous)
- Microsoft certifications in the M365 environment as well as ITIL 4 Foundation
- Experience in data migrations and 2nd and 3rd level support, ITIL knowledge
- Knowledge of Entra ID, permission control and group logic, basic understanding of M365 governance and compliance
- Proven consulting and workshop competence: you capture requirements, moderate, and explain complex topics clearly
- Experience in change and stakeholder management in the IT environment
- Strong communication skills, empathy, and enjoyment in contact with specialists, managers, and schools
- Independent, structured, efficient, and service-oriented working style
- Negotiation-level German (C1), fluent English (B2)
- Advantageous:
- Experience in the public sector or educational environment
- Knowledge in automation and the M365 Copilot environment
