You take on a versatile leadership role in a dynamic environment with social relevance
The Winterthur City Police, with around 270 employees, is committed to ensuring that Winterthur remains the safest major city in Switzerland. You contribute by consistently aligning the main department of investigation and prevention with a holistic security strategy and taking over the leadership of this main department with 60 employees. As a member of the management of the city police, you work together with us for the sustainable success of the organization.Your Tasks
- Leadership of the subordinate organizational units in organizational, professional, and personnel matters
- Processing political matters as well as matters for the commander and active participation in the strategic direction of the corps
- Cross-departmental training and directive authority in the area of application and compliance with criminal procedural requirements
- Representation of the Winterthur City Police in interdisciplinary working groups, towards our partner organizations in law enforcement and within the city administration, as well as leading and participating in projects
- Taking over officer duty after the introduction and training phase
Your Profile
- In recent years, you have acquired a solid knowledge in law enforcement. This could be through several years of experience as a public prosecutor, as a defense attorney, or in the form of a long-standing criminal police career with leadership experience and corresponding solid legal training and education
- Business or strategic training in leadership is desired
- Experience in leading employees in a structured organizational form as well as a flair for winning employees for changes.
- Strong performance orientation, integrity, and high social competence
- Ability to pragmatically combine agility with adherence to formal requirements
- During on-call duty, you can reach the city limits of Winterthur within 30 minutes
