Project Manager Coordination Office Participation

We are looking for a project manager (80%) starting 1 January 2027 or by arrangement.

Your tasks

• You will conceptually and strategically handle the topics of political participation, participation and democracy promotion, engage with current developments and challenges, such as in the area of disinformation, and develop new project ideas and measures from this.
• You independently lead demanding projects and are responsible for them from conception, planning, through control to implementation and evaluation.
• Within your projects, you maintain and develop networks with internal and external cantonal partners, organise events and are responsible for project communication.
• You represent the Coordination Office Participation in internal cantonal as well as external working groups and committees.

Your profile

• You have a university degree, preferably in subjects such as political or social sciences, as well as any additional qualifications and/or work experience in a relevant field.
• You have solid experience in independently leading and implementing projects and are accustomed to involving different stakeholders and driving initiatives forward independently.
• You are familiar with political participation and democratic involvement and are interested in current social developments. Ideally, you bring professional experience or a strong interest in one or more of the following topics: digital political participation, local political participation at municipal or neighbourhood level, inclusive participation.
• Networking and stakeholder work come easily to you and you can win over different internal and external partners for joint projects. Experience in community management is an advantage.
• You are interested in social developments and working in the administration. You enjoy translating complex issues creatively and collaboratively with others into concrete initiatives.

The Office for Statistics and Data (ASD) is the competence centre of the Canton of Zurich for public statistics and data. It provides the population, media, economy and politics with facts about life in the Canton of Zurich, leads and coordinates the cantonal data governance as a data competence centre, opens official data to the public and advances data science in the administration. Additionally, the ASD ensures the smooth running of elections and votes and advocates for political participation.

The focus areas of the Coordination Office Participation are the promotion of political involvement and democratic skills in a diverse society, as well as awareness-raising, communication and the building of networks within the cantonal administration and with external partner organisations in these thematic areas.
