University Clinic for Forensic Psychiatry and Psychotherapy

The University Psychiatric Centre Bern stands for high-quality psychiatric care, research and teaching. Forensic Psychiatry, as one of four psychiatric university clinics, plays a central role in the treatment of complex patients. In this position, you will assume senior consultant functions with extensive responsibility in the assessment and treatment of forensic patients. You are part of a committed interdisciplinary team - rotations to other areas of the Forensic Clinic are possible and encouraged.
Your tasks
- You independently or under supervision prepare criminal and civil law expert opinions
- If interested, there is the possibility to allocate a variable proportion of your employment level to other clinical fields of activity, for example in psychiatric care in the penal system, in the outpatient sector or on an inpatient unit
- You participate in the general psychiatric on-call service
- You actively engage in the education, further training and continuing education in the field of psychiatry at the University of Bern
- You support ongoing research projects and can develop your own projects within the framework of the clinic's research concept if interested
- An additional performance-related remuneration is provided for the preparation of expert opinions
Your profile
- You hold a specialist title in psychiatry and psychotherapy or are in the final year of training to become a specialist in psychiatry and psychotherapy
- Ideally, you have already obtained the subspecialty title in forensic psychiatry or wish to acquire it at our training centre
- It is advantageous if you can demonstrate experience in preparing forensic expert opinions
- You work in a structured, responsible manner and with a high degree of initiative
- You are strong in communication and confident in dealing with internal and external contacts
- Ideally, in addition to very good German skills, you have very good French skills
