The public prosecutor's office, with around 250 employees, consists of four regional investigation offices, a cantonal investigation office responsible for the entire canton, the juvenile prosecution office, and the staff of the Chief Public Prosecutor, who, in addition to overall organisation, also leads the Cantonal Investigation Office. The Cantonal Investigation Office conducts criminal proceedings in complex substantive and procedural legal environments. This mainly concerns economic, structural, and serious crime. As a legal officer, you report hierarchically to the Chief Public Prosecutor and head of the Cantonal Investigation Office.

from 1 January 2027 or by arrangement for the staff of the Chief Public Prosecutor

Workload: 80-100%

What to expect

• Overall organisation of the public prosecutor's office: You support the Chief Public Prosecutor and the Public Prosecutor's Conference in all matters arising from the management and development of a public prosecutor's office. Clarifying and discussing complex legal issues and preparing joint reports and opinions are among your main tasks.
• Cantonal Investigation Office: You support the Chief Public Prosecutor and the management of the Cantonal Investigation Office in the strategic and operational conduct of proceedings in demanding offence structures (economic, structural, and serious crime), especially in legally and factually complex matters.

What distinguishes you

• You have a university degree in law, preferably with a lawyer's licence
• You possess broad legal knowledge, especially in criminal and criminal procedure law as well as administrative law (including cantonal law)
• You independently clarify complex facts and contexts legally and present them textually in a finalised form
• You proactively identify legal and factual problems and develop legally sound solution strategies
• You work conscientiously and efficiently even under pressure, setting priorities
• You are willing to participate in demanding investigative actions, final orders, and appeal procedures
• A high level of service orientation, responsibility, and discretion are natural to you
