About the job
Can you be relied upon - professionally and personally?
The University Psychiatric Clinics (UPK) Basel are one of the leading psychiatric clinics in Switzerland. Our goal is the continuous improvement of the treatment of our patients to achieve their best possible quality of life. The Medical Therapeutic Services (MTD) of UPK Basel offer a variety of therapy forms. These are disorder-specific and integral parts of interdisciplinary treatment. Prescribed by doctors, they complement the psychotherapeutic and medicinal therapy offerings of the departments, which cover inpatient, day-patient and outpatient areas.
The PTK has 16 treatment places for patients with a broad spectrum of mental or psychosomatically related illnesses. Treated are particularly depressive disorders, eating disorders, anxiety disorders, personality disorders, trauma-related disorders as well as somatoform and pain disorders. Patients with adjustment disorders related to chronic or severe physical illnesses are also admitted.
The treatment is primarily based on psychodynamic methods and additionally integrates therapeutic concepts from other therapy schools, especially systemic and behavioural approaches.
The multimodal therapy programme includes psychotherapeutic individual therapy, various interactional and theme-centred group therapies, body-oriented methods, mindfulness training and relaxation techniques as well as sociotherapeutic elements and key worker discussions.
In the day-patient setting, the involvement of the social environment is of particular importance. Therefore, couple and family discussions take place regularly.
The treatment extends over a period of several weeks to several months, enabling intensive psychotherapeutic processes.
