About our client
Our client is an internationally active Swiss plant manufacturer specialising in highly precise resistance welding systems and weaving machines. The company occupies a technological niche in global infrastructure (rail transport & wire processing) and is considered a market leader in the process automation of complex metal joints.
Your mission
As a technical expert, you are responsible for the further development of the core technology in the field of rail welding systems. You ensure the technological lead over global competition and act as a bridge between innovation and market application.
Your responsibilities
Technology ownership: You are responsible for building up and expanding process know-how in the field of flash butt welding.
Innovation & design: You lead the new and further development of complex rail welding machines - from the first sketch to market maturity.
Interdisciplinary hub: As a central interface, you advise product management, sales and operations on all technical issues.
Field support: You support service technicians during demanding on-site commissioning (approx. 10% worldwide travel activity).
Simulation-based optimisation: You use the latest tools (NX, FEM) to push the boundaries of what is technically feasible.
Your profile
Academic foundation: Degree in mechanical engineering (FH, ETH, university).
Expertise: Several years of experience in design and development, ideally in demanding plant or special machine construction.
Tool stack: Confident handling of Siemens NX and SAP; sound knowledge of FEM analyses is a strong plus.
Communication: Business fluent German and English for collaboration in an international environment.
Mindset: Analytically sharp, self-responsible and flexible - a problem solver who remains calm even with complex technical challenges.
