About the job
The Centre for Children with Sensory and Physical Disabilities ZKSK is an interdisciplinary centre of expertise for children and young people with physical, sensory and multiple disabilities. At four locations, we offer individual medical and educational therapy services. With psychological and medical assessments as well as therapies, we support, advise and accompany children and families.
The day special school in Trimbach (10 minutes from Olten main station) was opened in August 2022. We are looking for a committed, resilient and flexible teaching assistant (60% workload) to start immediately or by arrangement.
You will support the basic level class and the small group in everyday school life and during lunch. The basic level class comprises seven pupils with a physical, sensory or multiple disability, the small group comprises three pupils with increased care needs. The workload is distributed over four to five working days during the school weeks, with compensation during the school holidays.
Your tasks
- Supporting the class teachers in educational, nursing and therapeutic activities as instructed by the class teachers
- Independent supervision of small pupil groups during lessons
- Independent preparation and delivery of individual lessons where possible and in mutual agreement
- Participation in lunch and day care, break and lunch supervision
- Accompanying and assisting in swimming lessons, gymnastics and crafts
- Participation in whole-school events and projects (e.g. camps, storytelling night)
- Other tasks as instructed by the class teachers and/or school management
Your qualifications
- Professional training as a FaGe, FaBe, nurse or equivalent qualification desired
- Experience in educational and nursing work desired
- Responsible, resilient and humorous personality with good empathy
- Enthusiasm for interdisciplinary collaboration centred on the child
- Communication and negotiation skills, high social and self-competence
- Flexibility regarding the area of responsibility and infrastructure, as well as a pragmatic approach, are advantageous for the initial phase
- Knowledge of common Office programmes
