To expand our team, we are looking for an Embedded Linux Software Engineer to further develop our train radio and passenger information systems.
The Company
ErvoCom is a successful SME that has established itself as a specialist in communication systems on the market. The company’s core competencies lie in the development and production of proprietary hardware and software, as well as corresponding system solutions. Furthermore, the company plans and implements complete radio and communication solutions for emergency services, rail vehicles, airports, and security-sensitive facilities. Overall, ErvoCom is divided into the following three business areas:
- Intelligent Transport: Development and production of rail-specific hardware and software solutions. Implementation of system solutions for train communication and passenger information.
- Critical Communication: Complete planning, calculation, and implementation of radio networks, including the development of customised special solutions.
- Emergency & Security: Location, monitoring, and communication solutions for emergency services, financial service providers, and transport companies.

Your Tasks
As an Embedded Linux Software Engineer, you will develop the next generation of connected solutions for passenger information and train communication with us. You will work on audio amplifiers, passenger intercoms, control devices, and train radio systems, where digital audio transmission, DSP-based voice optimisation, Ethernet communication, and cyber security come together to form a reliable overall solution.
Your work contributes to ensuring that our customers receive tailored, secure, and reliable solutions.
- You develop and design new software components for our embedded Linux platforms.
- You create technical specifications and contribute to the definition of software architectures.
- You design and implement CI/CD pipelines as well as automated build and test processes.
- You review and implement cyber security measures for our products and systems.
- You support projects with technical clarifications, solution finding, and effort estimation.
- You work closely with hardware development, product management, and other internal and external project participants.
Your Profile
- A degree from a technical college, university of applied sciences, or university in electrical engineering, computer science, or a comparable field
- Experience in embedded software development under Linux
- Very good programming skills in C++
- Experience with modern development tools and processes such as Git, CI/CD, and automated testing
- Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python or Bash for automating build and test processes
- Knowledge of network technologies such as TCP/IP, UDP, VLAN, and routing
- Initiative, teamwork skills, and enthusiasm for learning new technologies and subject areas
- Good German and English skills, both spoken and written
Advantageous
- Practical experience with the Yocto Project as well as with creating and adapting embedded Linux distributions
- Knowledge in the field of cybersecurity for embedded systems
- Knowledge of TypeScript, NestJS, and React is an advantage
