Role:
As a Software Engineer Automation / PLC & HMI, you develop and optimise sophisticated control and software solutions for thermal coating systems. You combine solid knowledge in PLC programming, software engineering, and automation and work on modern solutions from development and virtual commissioning to integration and commissioning at the customer site.
Responsibilities:
Development and continuous improvement of PLC, HMI, and software solutions for thermal coating systems
Programming and further development of Siemens S7-1500 controllers with TIA Portal
Development of modern HMI applications with Java using object-oriented software architectures and design patterns
Building and using virtual test environments with Siemens SIMIT
Implementation of test automation and software quality assurance concepts
Integration and connection of databases as well as industrial communication protocols
Development and integration of interfaces via PROFINET, Modbus/TCP, and OPC UA
Qualifications:
Completed degree or comparable education in computer science, software engineering, automation, or electrical engineering
Several years of professional experience in PLC development with Siemens S7-1500 and TIA Portal
Solid experience with SIMIT, virtual commissioning, and test automation
Very good knowledge of Java, object-oriented software development, and common design patterns
Experience with databases, especially SQL, Firebird, and/or MongoDB
Good knowledge of industrial communication systems such as PROFINET, Modbus/TCP, and OPC UA
Experience with Git, GitLab, CI/CD, and modern software development processes
Knowledge in industrial cyber security, secure development, and DevSecOps
Understanding and ideally experience with IEC 62443 and the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA)
