Job Description
Businesses and individuals are profoundly affected by the revolution of artificial intelligence, particularly generative artificial intelligence (GenAI), which offers a unique content creation capability.
Its capabilities have quickly extended to code generation, significantly optimising software development time. From personal use to enterprise products, AI is now present in a large part of developers’ activities.
Just like other creative professions (notably artistic ones), the developer’s role is radically impacted by the rise of these technologies.
Thus, this internship aims to provide answers to the following issue:
Artificial intelligence in software development: what opportunities for businesses?
Study Phase
Attached to Wavestone’s Swiss office, the internship’s objective is to study use cases and impacts of AI-based features, specifically generative AI, regarding developers’ activities in companies.
Preparatory Work:
The start of the internship will be marked by a scoping note aimed at precisely defining the study’s boundaries and research problem(s), based on Wavestone’s existing market and subject knowledge. Additionally, the scoping note aims to align Wavestone’s expectations with the internship deliverable(s).
We offer an internship structured around the following objectives:
Study of AI use cases in development activities:
Identification of use cases and typology of AI features offered to developers; code generation, code review and optimisation, vulnerability identification, solution design, …
Study of expected gains, impacts and risks associated with using AI services in companies:
Determine metrics to measure expected gains and prioritise AI use cases serving development according to these metrics
Identify risks related to the nature of AI services (e.g., data leakage, intellectual property, backdoor on internal network, …)
Identify risks related to the nature of activities performed by AI (e.g., algorithmic under-optimisation, side effects (unexpected behaviour), loss of control/technical knowledge of developed solutions, maintenance and scalability, …)
Identify impacts related to the transformation of activities and roles within the company (e.g., modification of developer activities, transformation of teams and operational model, …)
Design solutions and best practices regarding the adoption of AI services in software development activities:
Based on the inventory of use cases and risks, determine a prioritisation of use case adoption for the company and measures to mitigate risks and transformation impacts
Evaluate the designed solutions and best practices against market and company realities:
Thanks to knowledge of the various environments of Wavestone’s clients, determine market trends, expected and measured results. Evaluate these empirical data with the solutions and best practices designed in the previous objective.
Contributions to the consulting firm
As an intern consultant, you will also be involved in operational missions for our clients.
We also offer you the opportunity to actively participate in the firm’s internal life through:

Qualifications
