DE&I is the central specialist and advisory unit at HSG for diversity, equity, inclusion, personal integrity, and social sustainability. It supports the University in creating fair, accessible, and discrimination-free study and work environments, and plays a key role in implementing the social dimension of HSG's sustainability strategy. DE&I also fulfils a legal mandate to promote equal opportunities, integrity, and inclusion.
Our core responsibilities include:
- Confidential advising on e.g. discrimination and harassment, psychosocial stress, accessibility and access arrangements, and balancing work/study with family life
- Development of inclusive structures, processes and campus culture
- Coordination with university units and management of the Equality Committee
- Networking, knowledge transfer, and external representation on DE&I topics
With a solution-oriented approach, DE&I contributes to quality assurance, legal compliance, and HSG's attractiveness as a place to study and work.
Your tasks
- Provide individual counselling and support for students seeking access arrangements due to a chronic illness, disability or neurodivergence.
- Advise students, faculty and staff on issues relating to accessibility, family friendliness and equal opportunities.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders, manage and document cases in alignment with university procedures.
- Support the DE&I team in operational coordination (20%). This is not a purely administrative role; we want you to actively contribute to the further development of DE&I at HSG.
- Organise and participate in events and networks related to your areas of work.
Your profile
- Ein abgeschlossenes Hochschulstudium in Psychologie, Sozialer Arbeit, Sozialwissenschaften oder im Bereich Diversität, Chancengleichheit und Inklusion (DEI
- Nachweisbare Erfahrung in der Beratung, Unterstützung und Begleitung (von Studierenden)
- Hohes Interesse und Motivation, sich eigenständig vertieftes Fachwissen anzueignen, insbesondere zu Neurodiversität, Behinderungen und deren Auswirkungen auf Studium und Beruf
- Engagement für die Förderung von Gleichstellung und sozialer Gerechtigkeit, idealerweise basierend auf fundierten theoretischen Kenntnissen im Bereich DEI
- Sehr gute Deutschkenntnisse (mindestens Niveau C2) sowie sehr gute Englischkenntnisse (mindestens Niveau C1) in Wort und Schrift
- Ausgeprägte Fähigkeit zum selbstständigen Arbeiten sowie Freude an der Mitgestaltung kollaborativer und interdisziplinärer Teamprozesse
- A higher education degree in psychology, social work or social sciences/DEI
- Proven experience in counselling, advising and student support
- Motivation to independently acquire expertise, particularly in the areas of neurodiversity, disabilities and their impact on study/work
- Commitment to advancing equality and social justice, ideally based on some theoretical knowledge of DEI
- Very good German and English skills (spoken and written min. C1 proficiency)
- Affinity to work independently as well as contribute to collaborative team processes within and across units
- Personal values aligned with self-reflection, integrity, authenticity and empathy
