Job Description
About the Role
We are looking for a technically outstanding and leadership-driven Senior Development Engineer in Medical Devices to take immediate responsibility for leading a team of about 8 electronics, embedded software and system engineers. This role is ideal for someone who has the ambition, talent and experience to take the lead of the whole development department in Olten within the next 2-3 years.
You will drive the development of intelligent, electromechanical medical devices, define system architectures, and lead cross-functional teams through all phases of product development.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a team of electronics, embedded software and system engineers
- Define and drive system architecture in collaboration with experts in electronics, embedded systems, connectivity, and mechanical design.
- Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies to enhance product performance and reliability.
- Manage development milestones, risk assessments, and design reviews in compliance with ISO 13485, FDA 21 CFR 820.30 and ISO 60601
Qualifications
Your Profile
- Degree in Mechatronics, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 5-10 years of experience in medical device development, with a strong focus on electronics, embedded software, and system engineering.
- Proven leadership experience in managing technical teams and delivering successful product launches.
- Excellent communication skills in English; German is a plus.
- Structured, pragmatic, and solution-oriented mindset.
- Passion for cross-disciplinary collaboration within the Global Gerresheimer Development Organisation
