About the job
Internal investigations are part of the Criminal Department and an important service provider for the entire Bern Cantonal Police. With our versatile field of work, we support, for example, in the search for objects, vehicles and persons, in research and recognising crime connections, in providing information as well as in processing search requests, investigations and personal security checks.
Your tasks
- Obtain publicly accessible internet information within the framework of recruitment for police training professions
- Support preliminary investigations in the areas of OSINT/OSINF for various investigative departments of the Criminal Department
- Recognise, identify and participate in the sustainable dismantling of criminal structures and networks within the framework of criminal analytical, operational and strategic investigative work
- Clarify online identities, analyse networks and assess credibility
- Compile dossiers on criminal cases and personal networks, including preparation of documentation for the public prosecutor's office and other stakeholders
- Create Ripol reports and search requests
Your profile
- Federal diploma as a police officer, qualification as a police case handler or equivalent civilian qualification with relevant professional experience in the criminal police or official security environment
- Strong knowledge and interest in research and investigative work, social media and digital technologies as well as high IT affinity and willingness for continuous professional development
- Good comprehension and ability to combine for networked thinking as well as a structured, precise and goal-oriented working method even with a high volume of assignments
- Initiative, loyal and discreet personality with high social competence, pronounced team orientation as well as a flexible and solution-oriented attitude to occasional assignments outside regular working hours
- Very good written and oral expression in German as well as good French and English skills
