- Proficient in Linux (Ubuntu), Git, Python, Django, and general web development.

To support the office, the Science Olympiad is looking for a motivated individual starting February 1, 2026, or by arrangement, for a maximum of four years.
The Science Olympiad promotes interested and talented secondary school students (level II) with exciting extracurricular educational offerings as well as national and international competitions.
Eleven volunteer-run specialist associations form the Science Olympiad (WO). These associations organize the national Science Olympiads every year and support over 10,000 participants from all regions of Switzerland through unpaid volunteer work. The WO, as a non-profit association and national umbrella organization, supports its specialist associations in communication, finance, and administration. The Science Olympiad office, with its six employees, is based at the University of Bern.
Tasks
• Support in the development, maintenance, and support of web applications
• Data management in the ERP system
• Collaboration in automation and system administration
• General support of the office in digitization projects
Requirements
• Enrollment at the University of Bern
• Studies in computer science or a related field
• Good knowledge of Linux (Ubuntu), Git, Python, Django, and web development in general. Experience with Ansible, Celery, HTMX, and Tailwind CSS is an advantage.
• Experience or interest in data management
• Independent, reliable, and team-oriented working style
• Interest in education, talent promotion, and non-profit project work
