Your tasks
- You help patients to overcome crises and regain a better quality of life and greater autonomy
- You actively engage yourself and your knowledge in the multiprofessional team and broaden your own horizon, learning to understand and treat the entire spectrum of mental health disorders
- You make a significant contribution to basic psychiatric care in the Biel region
- You ensure the therapeutic and medical management of adult patients under the direction of the chief physician
- You are responsible for the reception, diagnosis and therapy of patients within a multiprofessional team
- You participate in the psychiatric-psychosomatic consultation service at the CHB hospital as well as in on-call duties
- A wide range of continuing education and training opportunities with financial participation, as well as internal and external individual and group supervisions, support you in your ongoing training or development
Your profile
- You hold a medical degree recognised in Switzerland or a practising licence (MEBEKO)
- You are in training to become a specialist physician
- You distinguish yourself by a high level of commitment, flexibility, willingness to perform, and maintain open and communicative relationships with patients and team members
- You enjoy working with adults suffering from mental disorders
- You have good oral and written knowledge of German and French, at least at level C1

The University Psychiatric Centre of Bern (UPZ) is, as a university clinic, the main centre of expertise in psychiatry and psychotherapy in the capital region. It provides psychiatric care in the canton of Bern throughout the entire care chain, from early detection to outpatient treatments, through day hospital care and inpatient treatments, to rehabilitation and forensic psychiatry.
