The GVZ Building Insurance of the Canton of Zurich has been insuring all buildings in the Canton of Zurich against fire and natural hazard damage for over 200 years and is committed to protecting people, animals and property through prevention and intervention. We are looking for a dedicated individual from December 2026 or by arrangement as

SPECIALIST VEHICLE PROCUREMENT 100%

How you can contribute with us

Independent planning, coordination and timely execution of vehicle procurements for the fire brigade organisations in the Canton of Zurich
Professional advice and support for the fire brigades in the procurement of new emergency vehicles
Preparation of subsidy commitments as well as creation and coordination of tender documents compliant with procurement regulations
Development and review of vehicle specifications and loading lists in collaboration with the involved specialist groups
Ensuring complete, comprehensible and up-to-date documentation of ongoing procurement transactions
Preparation and evaluation of key figures, statistics and decision-making bases
Creation and monitoring of the budget for vehicle procurements
Representation of the Fire Brigade Department in working groups, at trade fairs and during vehicle inspections and handovers
Participation in projects as well as active involvement in the further development and optimisation of fire brigade vehicles

What you bring with you

Completed technical vocational training, preferably in the field of vehicle or commercial vehicle technology, supplemented by commercial or business management training
Strong technical understanding, especially in the field of vehicle and commercial vehicle technology
Experience in project management as well as independent coordination and monitoring of complex procurement processes
Good knowledge of public procurement law is an advantage
Independent, structured, forward-looking and reliable way of working
High commitment to meeting deadlines, timeframes and agreements
Communicative personality with a proactive, transparent and audience-appropriate manner of expression
Innovative thinking and strong cost awareness
Good knowledge of the fire service, ideally with experience in senior management of a fire brigade organisation
Driving licence category C or C1-118
