Certified Specialist in Operating Technology / Certified Operating Theatre Nurse with Additional Vocational Training Function

The University Clinic for Paediatric Surgery cares for and treats children aged 0-16 years in the specialties of orthopaedics, traumatology, visceral surgery, thoracic surgery, neurosurgery, urology, hand surgery, craniofacial malformations, ophthalmology, ENT and neonatal surgery. The operating theatre area including operating theatre planning comprises 3 theatres with around 25 staff. Organisationally, the paediatric and adolescent operating theatre is attached to the operating theatre platform.

What to expect

• Your main tasks are qualified instrumentation, preoperative assistance, general preparation, device operation, positioning and correct documentation during surgical procedures in the field of paediatric surgery
• You value contributing to quality improvement
• You participate in organisational, logistical and administrative tasks
• You are responsible for vocational training in the operating theatre and support the training of students and the further education of staff
• Regular deployment in all areas of responsibility and shifts is expected

What you bring

• Completed training as a Certified Specialist in Operating Technology HF or Certified Operating Theatre Nurse
• Sound specialist knowledge and at least 2 years of professional experience
• Enjoyment and motivation in guiding and supporting students and trainees
• Further training as a vocational trainer or willingness to undertake further training
• Specialist knowledge in paediatric surgery is a great advantage but not a requirement
• Team player with a focus on interdisciplinary collaboration, high work quality and appreciative communication
• Motivated, committed and patient personality with high social competence
• You have planning and organisational skills, can take responsibility, set priorities, and are resilient and flexible
