The Office for Criminal Enforcement employs around 260 staff in various professional fields. The regional prison in Altstätten currently has 45 places for individuals who have committed offenses in pre-trial detention, security detention, and (early) imprisonment. By 2028, the regional prison will be expanded to 126 places.
