- Responsibility for demand analysis as well as the quantity- and deadline-compliant procurement of slaughter animals and carcasses
- Ensuring the required quality standards including compliance with label programs (e.g., Suisse Garantie, ADR, etc.)
- Daily qualitative inspection of slaughter animal carcasses before production begins at the Lyss site
- Conducting price and condition negotiations in daily business as well as concluding agreements with suppliers
- Support and management of our external slaughter partners considering quality, costs, and target quantities
- Planning and organizing carcasses in cooperation with the internal transport department
- Ensuring compliance with legal requirements (animal protection, transport law, traceability)
- Ongoing market observation as well as analysis of price developments and trends
- Supplier care and preparation of evaluations and reports
Your Profile:
- Training as a butcher/meat specialist, ideally with commercial further education, preferably with initial experience in the field of livestock purchasing
- Negotiation skills, strong communication, and entrepreneurial thinking
- Sense of responsibility and decisiveness
- Good MS Office and ERP knowledge (CSB, myBICA advantageous)
- Independent, structured way of working
- Willingness to travel (approx. 10%)
