Software Developer specialising in Control Systems (m/f/d)

Role:
In this role, you will drive the development of sophisticated control systems and actively shape their architecture from conception to series production. You take responsibility for the design, implementation, and optimisation of software components that ensure reliable and precise control of complex systems. You analyse requirements, derive robust software solutions, and ensure high quality through testing, code reviews, and documentation. As an experienced professional, you actively participate in technical decisions, evaluate new technologies and methods, and thus contribute to the continuous improvement of the systems. Furthermore, you support other stakeholders with your expert knowledge, promote exchange, and ensure efficient collaboration across interfaces.
Responsibilities:
- You develop the PLC software for new machine series and options in the field of sheet metal bending machines
- In this role, you optimise and extend our C++ software
- You develop new software features in the team and in close coordination with customers
- As a software developer specialising in control systems, you share responsibility for the software architecture
- You conduct manual tests on the simulator and, if necessary, on machines at customers in Eastern Switzerland
- In this role, you expand automated software tests as well as the associated documentation and take on hardware project management if interested
Qualifications:
- You have a higher education or further training in computer science.
- You have completed basic training as an automation technician or a comparable technical education.
- You have several years of practical experience in PLC programming with Structured Text, ideally with Beckhoff systems.
- You are familiar with object-oriented programming, preferably with C++.
- Ideally, you bring experience with safety software such as TwinSAFE or SafeMotion.
- You work independently, analytically, structured, and quality-conscious and quickly grasp complex technical tasks.
