About the job
The Centre for Children with Sensory and Physical Disabilities ZKSK is an interdisciplinary competence centre for children and young people with physical, sensory and multiple disabilities in the canton of Solothurn. At four locations, we offer educational support, individual medical and pedagogical therapy services as well as residential options. With psychological and medical assessments and therapies, we support, advise and accompany children and families.
The day special school in Trimbach (10 minutes from Olten main station) was opened in August 2022 and has established itself. We are looking for a School Social Pedagogue (45-60%) to start immediately or by arrangement.
You will work at least every morning in a team with a young person with autism. The support is oriented towards their individual needs and abilities and focuses on promoting basic skills. Additionally, assignments in other classes with pupils with higher care needs with a physical, sensory or perceptual impairment may occur.
Your tasks
- You accompany a young person with autism through daily life
- You design recurring rituals and routines
- You enable relationship building and create a basis of trust
- You implement social pedagogical topics with individual children and/or with a whole class (including preparation and follow-up)
- You are involved in short-, medium- and long-term lesson planning
- You are also part of the care team responsible for lunchtime supervision and leisure activities for children and young people. This also includes camps organised by the ZKSK
- You take responsibility in the nursing area and are introduced and supported by a nursing professional
- You participate in parent evenings, assessment and location meetings
- You provide your expertise to other professionals
- You independently carry out administrative tasks (reports, entries in the file storage and in the teacher office, etc.)
Your qualifications
- Degree in social pedagogy
- Experience in special education and with children with autism desired
- A flexible, proactive and resilient personality with a strong sense of teamwork
- Enjoyment in working with children with physical, sensory and multiple disabilities
- Pedagogical skill in dealing with heterogeneity and mixed-age learning
- Experience in diagnostic assessment and support planning with a focus on social pedagogical topics
