Global HR Business Partner, 60-100%
Role Objective
As a Global HR Business Partner, you take on a central role in the further development of our global HR strategy. You act as a sparring partner for leaders, drive strategic HR initiatives forward, and at the same time ensure close, high-quality support for our employees worldwide – especially in the international context and in collaboration with teams in the countries.
Strategic HR Work & Projects
- Leading and implementing global HR projects at strategic and operational levels
- Further development and implementation of modern compensation systems (including salary analyses and benchmarking) including for various groups of expats
- Creation, revision, and implementation of HR regulations (e.g., expense or hourly wage regulations in Switzerland, expat/delegate regulations)
- Co-design of organizational structures, workforce planning, and global HR strategies
- Continuous optimization of HR processes and tools
Consulting & Sparring
- Consulting and support especially in the area of Global Cooperation for leaders, desks/HoPs, and expats in all personnel-related and strategic HR and organizational topics
- Support in defining leadership profiles and building high-performing teams
- Consulting on the optimal filling of critical key roles (e.g., desk/country director constellations)
- Coaching of expats and employees in change processes or challenging situations
- Close collaboration with the global HR team and relevant stakeholders
- Proactive identification and transparent communication of anomalies, risks, and need for action in Global Cooperation as well as proposing solutions
Recruiting & Talent Management (international)
- Active participation and consulting in the international recruitment process, especially for key positions
- Proactive assessment of personalities, leadership styles, and team constellations
- Ensuring a high-quality, strategically aligned personnel selection
- Building and maintaining a relevant external network to position HEKS as an attractive employer (e.g., in the INGO environment)
Employee Support & International HR (including Expats Management)
- Comprehensive support of employees throughout the entire employee lifecycle (excluding administrative tasks)
- Specific support for international employees/expats before, during, and after assignments
- Regular follow-ups with expats to ensure motivation, performance capability, and psychological well-being
- Consulting and feedback to GC management and desks/HoPs based on insights from assignments
- Development and further advancement of mentoring programs
HR Governance, Policies & Regulations
- Consulting on HR topics in country offices as well as acting as a central contact person (HQ) for HR questions in the countries
- Co-design and optimization of global HR policies and documents relevant for international assignments
- Ensuring compliance with local and international requirements
HR Insurance & Benefits
- Responsibility for managing the HR insurance portfolio
- Further development of benefits structures considering international requirements
- Completed studies (Master) in HR, business administration, or comparable, supplemented by advanced qualifications in strategic HR management (e.g., NDS HF HR Manager) or equivalent, long-standing senior-level practical experience
- Mandatory experience in HR management with international employees/expats within an international NGO (INGO)
- Solid understanding of HR processes at both HQ and country/field levels
- Several years of experience as an HR Business Partner in an international and complex environment
- Proven experience in leading strategic HR projects
- Sound knowledge in compensation & benefits as well as labor law (ideally Switzerland and international)
