Embedded Systems Software Engineer 100% (m/f/d)

What is my role?

• Development of hardware-near embedded software in C/C++ for own electronic products

• Responsibility for the further development of existing firmware products

• Contributing experience and ideas for the continuous advancement of software architecture, development processes, and tool landscape

• Development of automated unit and integration tests and active participation in shaping the test, build, and CI/CD environment

• Active involvement in the agile development process as well as contribution to planning, reviews, and continuous improvement of collaboration

• Ensuring sustainable technical documentation throughout the entire product lifecycle

• Close cooperation with internal departments and external partners as well as support with technical questions regarding the products

What do I need to be successful?

• University degree (FH/University) in electrical engineering, computer science, software engineering, or a comparable technical field or equivalent qualification with relevant professional experience

• Several years of experience in hardware-near embedded software development and confident command of C/C++

• Solid understanding of embedded systems and their interaction with hardware as well as experience in software design and development of software architectures

• Enjoyment in familiarising oneself with existing products and codebases as well as their sustainable further development

• Familiarity with agile working methods and a strong appreciation for an iterative and team-oriented way of working

• Advantageous: Experience with automated software tests, test frameworks, as well as build and GitLab CI/CD pipelines

• Advantageous: Experience with additional programming languages and technologies as well as interest in developing engineering, configuration, or service tools for PC, web, or mobile platforms

• Advantageous: Experience in technical leadership of subprojects or projects

• Advantageous: Knowledge in system analysis, design, and optimisation of control systems

• Advantageous: Experience with application lifecycle management systems such as Polarion
