Portrait of the School/Institution
Together uniquely on the way
We are the foundation for blind and visually impaired children and adolescents Zollikofen - a private, politically and confessionally neutral organization with a non-profit objective. Our task is to promote and accompany people with special support needs from birth to young adulthood. We offer additional services to parents, teachers of public regular schools and special schools, as well as to professionals. Our core competencies lie in the promotion and support of young people with visual impairments, blindness, multiple disabilities, or from the autism spectrum.
A group of visually impaired and blind adolescents, as well as adolescents on the autism spectrum, carry out a practical assignment in our bistro once a week during the school weeks. Cooking, serving, cashing, maintaining contact with guests, and many other activities provide initial job-related experiences and give the young people a good basis for their later professional career. In all these activities, the young people are expertly guided and supported by the bistro team.
