TAB for the Toxicology and Forensic Chemistry Unit of the CURML

The University Centre of Legal Medicine of Western Switzerland (CURML), attached to the Department of Medical Radiology (DRM) of the CHUV, is seeking a biomedical analysis technician (TAB) at a 70% workload, on a permanent contract, for its Toxicology and Forensic Chemistry Unit (UTCF). The starting date is scheduled for 1 December 2026 or to be agreed.

Context

The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the five Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, the CHUV plays a leading role in medical care, medical research, and education.

The Toxicology and Forensic Chemistry Unit (UTCF) is part of the University Centre of Legal Medicine of Western Switzerland (CURML). It performs toxicological analyses aimed at providing precise and reliable results and also contributes to academic and specialised teaching as well as research and development in forensic toxicology.

Mission

• You perform toxicological analyses to detect substances such as drugs, medicines, alcohol or markers in various types of biological samples, powders or liquids
• You check, validate, evaluate and critically interpret the results obtained for synthesis and the preparation of the final report
• You write analysis reports
• You ensure the first-level maintenance and upkeep of the instruments used
• You participate in the supervision of biomedical analysis technician trainees.

Profile

• You hold a diploma as a biomedical analysis technician ES or an equivalent qualification
• You have at least two years of experience in a biomedical analysis laboratory
• You have good knowledge of analytical chemistry and associated techniques and instruments: GC-MS, GC-HRMS, LC-MS, LC-MS/MS, LC-HRMS, HPLC-DAD, CE-DAD and immunological tests
• You possess a good understanding of English, both spoken and written
• You are proficient with common computer tools.
