Tasks
Automation technicians in aircraft maintenance are sought-after specialists. You will work on the most modern aircraft systems and, together with other professionals, ensure the maintenance, inspection and repair of aircraft.
1st & 2nd year of apprenticeship
Basic training in the SWISS TechOps workshop exempt from inter-company courses: You will learn about the structure and function of electrical and pneumatic controls, deepen your knowledge in programming control systems and apply this in commissioning, testing and optimisation in realistic projects.
3rd & 4th year of apprenticeship
Specialist training in aircraft maintenance at SWISS at Zurich Airport.
General
- 1–2 days per week of theoretical training at BFS Uster
- Possibility to attend vocational college (BMS)
- Opportunity to obtain the aircraft mechanic licence EASA Cat. A during training
After 4 years, you will complete your training with the federal diploma – well prepared for an exciting future in aviation.

Requirements
What you bring
- Completion of compulsory schooling (Sec A or B) with good grades
- Completed trial apprenticeship as an automation technician
- Manual dexterity and technical interest
- Enjoyment of technology and the English language
- Reliability, sense of responsibility and team spirit
- Resilience and willingness to work shifts in the 3rd and 4th year
Note: An internal aptitude test will take place during the application process.
