The Conference of Cantonal Directors of Agriculture (LDK) promotes cooperation among the cantons as well as between the cantons and the federal government, primarily in the areas of agricultural policy, support for productive peasant agriculture, and preservation of cultural land. The LDK fosters opinion formation and strives for common positions. For issues with majority support, the LDK ensures effective representation of interests at the federal level and in other directors' conferences through its committees. These tasks are coordinated and ensured by the LDK Secretariat. It is located in the House of Cantons at Speichergasse 6 in the city of Bern.

To support this interesting and demanding role, we are looking for a Secretary General from 1 July 2027 or by agreement.
Your area of responsibility
- Strategic and operational implementation of the conference's objectives
- Management of the Secretariat
- Collaboration within clear structures with the conference committees as well as partners in the individual policy areas
- Extensive contact with political leaders, cantonal and federal committees, administrations, associations, and other institutions.
- Preparation of background papers, memoranda, and statements
What we expect from you
- University degree (Master's) or another higher education qualification
- Several years of professional experience, preferably in agricultural administration
- Strong interest in agricultural policy and farming-related topics and willingness to deepen knowledge in these areas.
- Resilient and loyal personality with initiative
- Proven editorial skills and team spirit
- Strong communication skills, high social competence, familiarity with modern leadership and management methods, good business knowledge, and confident demeanour.
- Fluent knowledge of one national language and very good knowledge of a second national language
