On-call replacements for the SleepIn night service

The canton of Geneva has adopted an ambitious strategic plan for the prevention and reduction of risks for crack users. To meet this challenge, the association Première Ligne is seeking motivated individuals to participate in the development of innovative harm reduction actions in favour of substance users.

SleepIn Missions

• Welcome 12 consuming persons per evening and offer them a dignified place of shelter
• Distribute consumption equipment to people attending the facility;
• Conduct interviews on request and carry out necessary medico-social referrals;
• Provide information and prevention messages about risks related to AIDS, hepatitis, and the use of psychotropic substances;
• Provide first aid;
• Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation and call emergency services.

Profiles sought

• Degree in nursing or social work;
• Motivation to work in a harm reduction context and interest in issues such as drugs, AIDS, prostitution, precariousness, migration, social exclusion;
• Experience appreciated;
• Ease of contact, team spirit;
• Stress resistance and great adaptability;
• High availability.

Observation period to be expected and first aid training offered.

Working hours

• Service open 7 days a week from 8pm to 8am.

Salary conditions

Basic salary of CHF 40.- per hour + allowances for evening and night work. Salary is adjusted according to past experience.

Replacements are occasional and Première Ligne does not guarantee either an annual number of replacements or an annual quota of hours.

Start date

Immediate or to be agreed.
