About the job
The Department Secretariat is the staff unit of the Department of Construction and Environment. It supports the Head of Department in managing the department. The Department Secretariat manages and prepares the department's business for the government and cantonal council and conducts the administrative legal complaint procedure within its area of responsibility. Furthermore, it performs coordination and support functions within the department.
We are looking for a
Commercial Clerk Department Secretariat 50 %
from 1 August 2026 or by arrangement, based in Glarus.
Tasks
- Administrative responsibility for the Department Secretariat
- File management and administrative support in complaint matters
- Assistance function for the department management including coordination and organisation of meetings and events
- Administration and minute-taking of commission meetings
- Support with specific internal specialist applications
- Management of the procurement statistics programme including evaluations
- General secretarial duties as well as telephone and reception service (regular shifts at reception)
Requirements
- Completed commercial training with professional experience, preferably in public administration
- Very good knowledge in the use of IT systems and MS Office
- Confident oral and written expression as well as a polished manner
- Structured, independent and precise way of working
- High reliability, discretion and strong sense of responsibility
- High social competence and ability to work in a team
