Director FONDATION SUISA 80–100%

In view of the retirement of its long-time director, the FONDATION SUISA is looking for a committed and enthusiastic personality for the position of director starting July 1, 2026, or by agreement.

Are you passionate about music and want to actively contribute to shaping the Swiss music scene? Since 1989, the FONDATION SUISA has been promoting the diversity of musical creation in Switzerland and Liechtenstein. We support and accompany musicians, composers, and performers in their creative projects and do everything possible to ensure that their works are heard and appreciated.

Your role

• Within a motivated team of five people and together with the Board of Trustees and the Artistic Commission, you are responsible for the strategic, operational, and artistic management of the Foundation.
• You develop innovative formats and projects for the targeted promotion of musicians and ensure that our support activities have a lasting impact.
• You advise and assist the Artistic Commission in evaluating submitted funding applications.
• You maintain a dynamic network and represent the Foundation convincingly and authentically vis-à-vis the SUISA cooperative, its partners, authorities, associations, and the general public.
• You are responsible for planning the Foundation's business activities, personnel development, budget, and IT.

What you bring

• You have solid experience in the music sector and a broad interdisciplinary understanding of music.
• You have experience managing a small organization and enjoy developing your skills in this area.
• Ideally, you have in-depth knowledge of cultural management or business administration.
• You have experience in the nonprofit and foundation sector (basic legal knowledge is welcome).
• You have communication and networking skills and prefer a participatory and solution-oriented leadership style.
• You have experience in budgetary and financial management.
• You are a French or German speaker, fluent in the other language, and have very good knowledge of English. Speaking Italian would be an additional asset.
