The research unit «Snow and Atmosphere» investigates snow and its interactions with the hydro- and atmosphere on various scales, with the aim of improving our understanding of the role of snow in the climate system. We are looking for a
The group «Snow Physics», with its long tradition in world-leading research on the physical properties of snow and ice, is seeking a new leader. Your tasks include high-level research and scientific leadership, acquiring third-party funding, as well as coordinating the group's projects and activities. You are also responsible for the cold laboratories of SLF and the instruments contained therein.
You have an excellent track record in snow research, particularly in snow physics, with proven success in acquiring third-party funding as well as experience in leading national or international research projects. In addition to your enthusiasm for linking theoretical concepts and modeling with field and laboratory measurements of snow and firn, you are an innovative personality with a broad international network and a committed and supportive leadership style. You have a clear vision of how you want to further develop the field of snow physics and promote its practical application in various relevant areas.
