Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated Research Assistant with a background in molecular biology and cell culture to support our translational gene therapy projects. The successful candidate will contribute to viral vector production, quality control, and the establishment of advanced in vitro and ex vivo models. The position is available immediately, limited until the end of 2027, with the possibility of extension.
Your responsibilities
- Maintain and culture mammalian cells and organotypic tissue models.
- Support the production and quality control of viral vectors (AAV).
- Assist in developing and optimizing protocols for tissue transduction and expression studies.
- Collaborate with scientists in ongoing translational projects.
- Contribute to general lab organization and maintenance.
Requirements
- Degree (apprenticeship, BSc, or MSc) in Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or a related discipline.
- Hands-on experience in mammalian cell culture.
- Prior experience in AAV production is an advantage, but not required; training will be provided.
- Familiarity with molecular biology techniques (e.g., PCR, ELISA, SDS-PAGE) is an advantage.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and in a team.
- Fluency in English; German is an advantage but not required.
