We are looking for a skilled Senior Software Engineer to help further push the scale and boundaries of our data access and storage pipelines as we keep growing towards bigger challenges.
We are looking for someone who challenges the status quo and is eager to develop new skills to help Nexthink stay on the cutting edge of digital employee experience (DEX). You should be heavily motivated by both the product and the technology stack. This is a unique opportunity to design and build distributed systems at scale.
You are highly motivated, results-driven, and detail-oriented. You have a high sense of product ownership and constantly learn and enhance your technical skills. You are familiar with various advanced system properties and concepts, such as the CAP theorem, data models, data catalogs, parser generators, domain-specific languages, and model-to-model transformations. You are pragmatic, open to feedback, accountable, and a team player. We look forward to meeting you!
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, deliver, and maintain systems that handle large volumes, variety, and velocity of data
- Create and test data pipelines, data models, and data architectures
- Leading contributor to the overall product’s architecture and design (including storage strategies)
- Drive innovation in the team and the whole Product Group, propose and contribute to valuable improvements
- Participate actively in building the technology roadmap
- Help improve the team's development best practices
- Handle L3 support requests (together with the rest of the team)
- Support and mentor other team members
- Work with the agile iterative/incremental mindset and best practices, and participate actively in the different ceremonies
Qualifications
- BSc in Computer Science (or equivalent work experience), MSc preferred
- Strong Java development experience (experience with other languages a plus)
- Experience with Docker, Kafka, ClickHouse, Micronaut, AWS, and Data Dog is highly valuable
- Familiarity with Git, Gradle, Jenkins, and Sonar
- Outstanding OO & Functional programming skills, data structures, algorithms & distributed computing know-how
- Strong refactoring and test automation abilities
- Experience with various query languages
- Passion for continuous improvement, lean thinking, and high-quality work
- Strong motivation for complex challenges and learning new technologies
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, professional level of English, spoken and written.
Bonus
- Proven experience with data-intensive applications is appreciated
- Knowledge of business intelligence systems or data warehousing
- Expertise with internal or external DSLs, meta-programming, and model-to-model transformations in any system are benefitial
- Experience with/or training in compiler implementation
- Being a Speaker at technical conferences, meetups is a plus
