- The Cantonal Court is the second-level judicial authority, which serves as the supreme court for civil, criminal, administrative, and social matters.
It intervenes to examine appeals and challenges filed against decisions made by courts of first instance, as well as by administrative authorities.
The Cantonal Court is recruiting for a part-time clerk-editor position (75%).
Attached to the civil and criminal courts, your role mainly involves drafting judgment projects but also includes case analysis and legal research, either independently or in collaboration with judges.
Additionally, you may be called upon to perform various tasks related to documentation and case management of the concerned authority, as well as to participate in various internal or external commissions of the Cantonal Court.
You hold a bachelor's or master's degree in law, complemented by the lawyer's certificate, and ideally have at least 3 to 5 years of legal experience (post-lawyer certificate), preferably in the judicial field, or any other experience relevant to the position.
Recognized for your loyalty and discretion, you are strongly committed to public service values and have a keen sense of responsibility. Able to work independently, you take initiatives within the scope of assigned competencies and are appreciated for both your rigor and versatility. You are also able to handle a significant workload while managing stress, thanks to a strong sense of organization and priority management.

- Very good knowledge of the judicial system and the functioning of public institutions in Neuchâtel.
- Excellent writing skills.
- Analytical and synthesis abilities.
- Mastery of legal German.
- Exemplarity and discretion.
This position also requires a clean criminal record and debt collection register.
