About the job
From 1 May 2027 or by arrangement, we are looking for you, a priest (40-60%)
The pastoral area Region Willisau has existed for 6 years. It includes about 10,000 Catholics in the six parishes of Geiss, Gettnau, Hergiswil, Menzberg, Menznau and Willisau.
At the end of April 2027, our Indian leading priest will return to his home diocese. For the central priestly duties, we are looking for a new personality. You may still be looking for a smaller workload (20-30% is also possible) in an open-minded team and environment that values priestly service. You are a person with sympathy for people and the ability to approach them. You are communicative, team-oriented and at the same time independent in your working style.
Tasks within the agreed workload:
- Taking over regular Sunday, weekday and home services
- Willingness to perform baptisms and funerals
- Administering the anointing of the sick
- Assisting with the first communion paths of the various parishes
- Appreciative and reliable cooperation with secretariats, organists, sacristans and volunteers
- Collaboration in the pastoral area team and leading priest as an option
You bring with you:
- Completed theology studies of the Diocese of Basel
- Interest in people; ability to listen to them; empathy and discretion in pastoral conversations
- You connect theology, spirituality and liturgy with the people of today
- You maintain an equal-level relationship with all stakeholders
