What is my role?
Our client requires an automation specialist for the St. Gallen location. In this position, you develop customised control solutions for industrial production facilities and analyse technical requirements together with the clients. You programme automation systems, visualise process flows, and configure user interfaces for machines and equipment. The quality assurance of your developments is carried out in direct coordination with the users. You accompany the implementation on site, train the operating personnel, and ensure technical support even after project completion. Proper documentation of all system components is also part of your responsibilities.
What do I need to be successful?
Completed vocational training in electrical engineering, mechatronics, or related technical disciplines
Advanced technical training as a technician or a university of applied sciences degree in electrical engineering, automation technology, or process informatics
Solid knowledge in programming control systems, especially Siemens TIA Portal or Allen-Bradley platforms
Experience with process control systems such as ProLeit or Wonderware is an advantage
Strong communication skills in dealing with project partners and enthusiasm for customer-oriented work
Structured and independent approach to complex tasks
Confident English skills for international project assignments (travel approx. 20%)
Teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate constructively across departments
