About the job
The Centre for Children with Sensory and Physical Impairments ZKSK is an interdisciplinary competence centre for children and adolescents with physical, sensory, and multiple impairments in the canton of Solothurn. At four locations, we offer educational support, individual medical and pedagogical therapy services, as well as residential options. With psychological and medical assessments and therapies, we support, advise, and accompany children and families.
The day special school in Trimbach (10 minutes from Olten main station) was opened in August 2022 and has become established. We are looking for a
From 1 September 2026 or by arrangement:
You will work on Mondays and Tuesdays in the upper school, where you will accompany about 7 young people with a physical, sensory, or perceptual impairment together with the interdisciplinary school team. On the other hand, you will work on Wednesdays and Thursdays in the small group, where you will accompany about 3 pupils with higher care needs with a physical, sensory, or perceptual impairment together with the interdisciplinary school team.
Your tasks
- You take on topics from the social pedagogical area in the class. You implement these topics with individual children and/or the whole class (including preparation and follow-up).
- You are involved in short-, medium-, and long-term lesson planning.
- You are also part of the care team responsible for lunchtime supervision and leisure activities for children and adolescents. This also includes camps organised by ZKSK.
- You take responsibility in the nursing area and will be introduced and supported by a nursing professional.
- You participate in parent evenings, assessment, and progress meetings.
- You make your expertise available to other professionals.
- You independently carry out administrative tasks (reports, entries in the file storage and teacher office, etc.).
Your qualifications
- Degree in social pedagogy
- Experience in special education is desirable
- Enjoy working with children with physical, sensory, and multiple impairments
- Pedagogical skill in dealing with heterogeneity and mixed-age learning
- Experience in diagnostic assessment and support planning with a focus on social pedagogical topics
- A flexible, proactive, and resilient personality with a strong sense of teamwork
