Supervising Specialist in Household Management MNA 80-100%, fixed-term in Zurich-Oerlikon (m/f/d)
Caritas Switzerland has been operating asylum centers for families, individuals, and unaccompanied minors (MNA) at currently five locations in the canton of Zurich on behalf of the cantonal social office (KSA) since March 2024. We are looking for you: a dedicated professional who supports young refugees in everyday life and creates structures. Your tasks
- Reception and introduction of newly arriving MNA including entry interview and formalities
- Support in building everyday practical skills (e.g., hygiene, nutrition, homework, handling money)
- Planning and implementation of a stable daily structure as well as leisure and activity offers
- Promotion of independence, social and self-competence, as well as psychological and social integrity
- Accompaniment to school attendance, doctor appointments, and other obligations including homework assistance
- Disbursement of pocket money and provision of in-kind benefits within budget management
- Conflict resolution and crisis intervention
- Co-creation of a positive residential group atmosphere and establishment of a binding framework (e.g., house rules, house meetings)
- Close interdisciplinary collaboration within the residential group team as well as with night and weekend services, health team, and household management
- Coordination of joint tasks such as leisure planning, doctor visits, or house meetings
- Documentation of progress reports, integration plans, and case documentation according to KSA guidelines in the Tutoris database
Our requirements
- Completed training/continuing education, for example as a care specialist, migration specialist, social companion, or similar
- Experience in the migration field and in caring for people is desirable
- Good German skills, additional foreign language skills are an advantage
- Intercultural competence
- Good Microsoft Office skills
- High sense of responsibility, hygiene, and quality awareness
- Initiative and independence as well as assertiveness
- High resilience and ability to cope with stress
- Willingness to work varying hours
Workplace is Zurich-Oerlikon.
