About the job
The Department of Security and Environment, with its 440 employees, includes the areas of city police, protection & intervention, registration and civil status services, environmental and health protection, as well as the City Magistrate's Office. The Winterthur City Magistrate's Office is the authority for orders and investigations in the field of minor offence law within the city area and processes around 14,000 cases annually in the ordinary procedure. From 1 February 2027 or by agreement, we are looking for a committed leader to head the City Magistrate's Office.Your Tasks
- Organisational, professional and administrative management of the City Magistrate's Office
- Personnel management of 10 employees
- Processing and issuing of penal, dismissal, and procedural orders in minor offence proceedings
- Management of investigation and appeal procedures
Your Profile
- Federally recognised university degree in law (licentiate/master level)
- Several years of experience at a criminal authority or court in a similar role
- Sound leadership, planning and organisational experience
- Communicative, analytical and conceptual skills as well as high self-initiative
- Proven leadership experience
