Head of Carbon Markets Division (m/f) 80-100% at the Zurich location
Your tasks:
- You take overall responsibility for the strategy, positioning, and operational management of the Carbon Markets division – thus decisively shaping its future.
- You drive the further development of our activities and find the right balance between quality, regulatory requirements, and innovation potential.
- Together with an experienced management team and highly specialized employees, you lead the division with energy, clarity, and a good sense for stability and change.
- You develop the strategic direction in close coordination with the executive management and board of trustees and set new impulses for the future of the division.
- You ensure that ongoing projects and programs are successfully implemented – with a focus on impact, cost-effectiveness, and efficient use of resources.
- You position the division confidently in the complex market environment of Voluntary Carbon Markets, Paris Agreement Compliance, CORSIA, and regulatory frameworks.
- You inspire, promote, and empower a highly qualified team and live a leadership culture based on coaching, trust, and shared responsibility.
- You recognize opportunities for change and innovation and implement them purposefully without jeopardizing the stability and credibility of the division.
- You represent the division convincingly externally and build sustainable relationships with stakeholders from business, politics, regulation, and civil society.
- You ensure the highest integrity, credibility, and "street credibility" throughout the entire carbon market ecosystem – thus expanding our position as a recognized player.
Your profile:
- You bring 10–15 years of leadership experience in a complex, international market environment – ideally in areas such as climate protection, financial markets, sustainability, or energy.
- You have in-depth knowledge in the field of carbon markets, climate policy, or related topics and use your international network to create impact.
- You not only know the abbreviations BVCM, PACM, NBS, MAIN, PDD, CA, CER/VER, ITMO, and CORSIA but can confidently explain the concepts behind them – without technical aids.
- You think strategically and act with strong implementation skills – with a clear priority on solutions and impact.
- You convince with strong leadership and management skills and know how to lead, inspire, and achieve success together with an experienced team.
- You shape change processes with good judgment and manage to win employees over to new paths and actively involve them.
- You communicate clearly and empathetically, appear confident, and convince through credibility, empathy, and your ability to maintain and expand networks.
- You master German and English at an excellent level; additional languages are a plus that further enhances your international impact.
